I dread driving to work this morning ... it is like an ice storm/blizzard right now - on top of all the snow that blew in last night.
going to be fun, fun, fun (not!)

it wouldn't be so bad if they maintained the roads, but the first 10 miles (of the 30 miles I drive), they (the next town over is responsible for this section of the road) seem to never, ever clear the highway. Last week it was pure ice - just nasty, and they didn't even have the decency to sand it. It is the #1 highway for goodness sake ... the one that stretches all across Canada ... and they can't be bothered to keep up their section of it.

As long as I can stay on the road for the first 10 miles, I know I have a better chance of getting to work safely. The next 20 miles, well, flip a coin ... it may be good, it may not be. But at least they usually have sanders and snow blowers out working.

We just did another round of shirt-sleeve weather, 6" snow, and back to Springtime in 36 hours.

over the next couple days, our lows will be around -5F - our highs will be around 10F - and we are expected to get up to 30cm of that white crap. Good lord ... will spring ever arrive?

We've been in the 40s, in the low 50s for a short while. Got some sleet and snow showers, rain, and that's it. Still have snow on the ground but my roof is finally clear. Spring is trying but appears it needs to try harder in Howler's neck of the woods. Weather is confused...

Well, Howler, looks like the cold you had found Maine. Been dealing with a nasty windchill...felt like February. Got a couple of inches of snow Friday afternoon; just made it home from work before it started. At least that round didn't take long to melt away. Supposed to warm up some by the end of the week and that works for me. Tired of snow and tired of the cold...so ready for warmer temps.

yup - freezing temps continue here Moo - on Friday morning it was -24C (-11F) ... such fun!

The wind blew so hard on Thursday night that most of the north/south roads were completely covered with ice; lots of people had a fun time driving to the city

and we got more of the nasty white stuff last night - heading out to shovel the decks now (screw the driveway!)

warmer temps are supposed to appear this week some time - can't wait!

last Friday there were 13 communities (within our southwest corner) that had record breaking cold temps. Brrrrr
we've warmed up a tad this week, but nothing close to normal temps yet ... maybe next week

Figgy, what a crazy crazy spring weather! such extremes!
I think your weather is heading up our way Figgy - although more tame, by far.
we are expected to have (finally) seasonal temps this weekend (possible highs up to 50-55F)
then on Mon and Tue back to more of the white crap.
