Nope. It doesn't. Tonight and into tomorrow...little snow, ice, freezing rain, rain. Getting the freezing rain and/or ice at the moment.

We have an overnight-into-mid-day-Thursday snow and wind storm, rushing through to you in a couple days. I'm glad you don't need to be out driving in it.

seems January is always crappy everywhere

we have plummeted to -30C (-22F). (-38C with wind; -36F)
they predict that it will warm up and we may get rain on Sunday (+2C; 35F)
then they predict the temps will drop again, but not as low as it is right now (approx -16C; 3C)

good grief! what extremes!

all we have to do is hold tight and get through another couple months.
Me - I am praying for an early spring

Our winter definitely has not been usual. No plain, old boring snow storms with just snow. We've been getting snow into rain and/or ice and/or freezing rain, makes a hell of a mess worse than just snow. Temps today were around 50 with high winds and a LOT of rain. At least my car thawed out and a lot of my driveway lost a lot of the ice build-up. Back to single digit temps then back to the 30s and 40s then back to single digits.

Figgy - that mess coming my way will again be snow into rain. I'm glad I haven't had to drive in it, either.

Howler - our temps here about the same. It's been a damned yoyo. oy!

The cold has arrived with wind chills to go with it. A warm 5 degrees when I pulled into my driveway tonight. Yup...it's winter in Maine.

i forgot to post our nasty weather warning this weekend. A warm pacific system crossed our province bringing with it lots of snow and rain; it was followed by a very cold system which froze everything instantly, with up to 90K winds.

our little corner did not get hit as hard as some areas, with only small amounts of snow and a bit of rain. But we were hard hit with the winds again. Rain (unheard of in January) with high winds and plummeting temps is not much fun to say the least.

The roads were fairly decent yesterday getting to work though, so alright by me.

Well, we're supposed to get some of those white outs that hit everyone else. And the temps are already in the single digits. Plus flash freezing. brrrrrrrrrrr is almost here. Should be very polarish the next few days but not as bad as the Midwest. Still freezing tho not supposed to be any more storms until Monday. Bundle up, Howler...I will be!

always polarish (haha love this word!!!) in my neck of the woods!!
we have been warned that Feb will be an extremely polarish month (temps wise); which is odd, because January has always been that way - just not this year. Odd. Does that mean spring will be a month early or a month late?

Good question. At this point, spring will probably show up when it should, being the only normal thing about the weather. lol. I like polarish better than polar vortex. Everyone in the office complained about how cold it was today...told them be thankful we're not in the Midwest! Hell of a lot colder there than here! lol

Got to 10 degrees today! woo hoo! Won't discuss the windchill. Haven't heard anything about our February; temps are supposed to be cold thru Sunday then back into the 40s and 50s thru Wednesday (and yes, more rain...ugh!) then right back down again. The yoyo continues...should name this weather As the Yoyo Turns.
