it certainly has cooled down to Autumn temps here ... wow that happened literally over night!
one day 35 the next 22

Our forecast high temps are now 60-70's ... mostly near 64 for the next two weeks
dripping hot to way too cool. I certainly don't mind the cooler temps, it just that when it happens that fast it takes longer to adjust/climatize. Our lows are now in the single digits (mid 40's)

oh ... and we got a whole 1/8" of rain. (barely worth mentioning)

Got enough rain to water the grass and wash my car. lol. We've had some storms that were pretty strong. Lots of lightening. A couple of towns got an E0 tornado or one hell of a microburst. Brought down trees and power lines. One hell of a mess. In my neck of the woods...just wet. Then fog set in. oy! Guess it's getting to be that time of year. Supposed to be beautiful and warm till sometime Thursday night when the next round of rain shows up. Friday is supposed to be wet. A few trees have already started turning colors. Too early!!! Hope that's not a sign of an early winter. oh boy.

We're supposed to get a frost tonight. Pretty sure it won't be a killing one, just nip everything. Our leaves are just beginning to turn. Without many deciduous trees its kind of interesting to see swaths of bright yellow in the dark green. (But I still like Spring and Summer better.)

Leaves are turning on some trees here as well. We had zero temps one night but no frost in my yard. Some places in the province did get frost though. Now the temps are seasonal and above seasonal ... not complaining. I love autumn (and spring), so the longer this lasts the better.

Well, I think autumn has finally found Maine. Lots of leaves on the ground, temps getting cooler - low to mid 50s during the day, 30s at night. Got a lot of rain coming this week; won't see sun until maybe Thursday, if we're lucky. Yup. Getting to be that time of year and yes, I've already turned my heat on.

Haven't heard the acorns bouncing off my roof; think the trees got that taken care of during the summer. Gonna have a lot of raking to do.

Today is brilliantly sunny, but they are promising two big storms to blow through this coming week. We have some ski resorts open, so not many are unhappy at the prospect of a lot of early-season snow coming. I, on the other hand, am sitting here asking where the year went and why haven't I moved to a place with more copacetic weather.

I do like the winter in manageable pieces. There are some amazingly beautiful things that happen then, sparkling glints on snow, deep blue velvet nights, but then there's snow shovels, and drivers that don't know what they're doing, and a bunch of other stuff that involves sweating or freezing, and...and...and... * whines some more *

It was supposed to start snowing about noon today, which it technically did, but - It was sort of misting tiny white droplets that wouldn't even qualify as fog. Plus the cloud cover was so thin it was almost sunny at the time. There was no accumulation. It was a very half-hearted attempt.

It was supposed to snow three or four inches overnight until four or so on Wednesday. So far there's been a lot of wind, and that fine more-drizzle-than-snow that didn't last very long.

I got out my boots and winter coat, gloves and hats and all that. Its probably time anyhow, but I had other things that needed done more.

I'm getting pretty good at whining about the weather. 8-)

I hear ya, Ladies! We're allowed to whine! That said...who's bringing the cheese?

Mt. Washington has gotten snow already, some higher elevations have seen it but don't think it stayed. It's been cold enough for one of the ski resorts to break out their snow-makers. The way the temps have been in the mornings, think they'll have plenty of mornings they can make snow. As long as it stays there for now; not anywhere near ready for the crappy, messy weather and stupid, idiot drivers who forget how to drive in it. Hell, they can't drive on dry roads...why am I surprised? tee hee!

After the cloudy, rainy, yucky weather, we finally got sun but temps in the 40s during the day, 20s at night. My poor car as been pretty frosted most mornings; scraping needed if going anywhere before the sun melts it. Supposed to be a bit more mild this week - temps in the low to mid 50s, 60 on Wednesday (and rain in the am) then back to the 50s and nice. I can live with that. For now.
