Thanks to Harry Potter Theory[/color].

HPT chatting about possible news-y things.

Quote:
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re discussing the announcement of a NEW Harry Potter show- Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts- that will be released on HBO. Actually, TWO shows.

Over the years there seem to have always been whisperings of new Harry Potter content being released, particularly on HBO, and it seems like every year fans are left disappointed when, once again, nothing new is released. The reality of it all is that we hit a massive Harry Potter dry spell- with the last ‘Harry Potter’ film being released TEN years ago, and the last Fantastic Beasts film being released in 2018.

In essence- we’ve been left wanting more- but the good news is that there’s plenty on the horizon. This comes in the form of a new film, a new game, and two shows. I’m going to cover them all.

The new film, coming April 2022, is the recently announced ‘Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore’, which is most likely a third installment in a five part series (yet to be confirmed).

The new game- Hogwarts Legacy- which will likely be released shortly after the film- is an RPG that boasts an immersive open world-format, allowing players to approach the wizarding world how they see fit. In this game, players will see the wizarding world in a completely new light- as the game is set over a 100 years before Harry ever steps foot in Hogwarts.

Now, I mentioned TWO shows above, so let’s dive in to the first one:

I read about this on the HP fan club site
https://www.wizardingworld.com/news/cas ... ign=HPFC67

Unfortunately I don't have TV anymore. Not sure how I will be able to watch it.

the links for the mythology channel and the link in the line below it don't appear to be working for me ... I get a 404 error.

I will go check the ones not working for you, but - the one you provided sounds like fun! Their Trivia contest begins this Friday! Yikes!

When I lost my house I didn't start my Direct TV subscription back up at the new place. I had been getting annoyed with them; it seemed like every six months their rates went up. For a while i watched things on You Tube and other free places, then I signed up for YouTube TV to watch the winter Olympics for $30 per month. I was happy with them for a year or so, then they started raising prices a little at a time. When it was bordering on $50 I canceled and went back to the free ones. I'm not sure if any of these will work in Canada, but I bet Moo can get them:

Pluto TV is completely free with tons of channels. I get some national news, and most of their programming is quite a bit of re-runs of classics and older series, movies, some reality and talk shows, Dr Who, but its a good to put on while I'm doing dishes or whatever like I used to do with other sorts of TV. It plays on all sorts of devices.

electricnow is a site that plays a lot of Dean Devlin things - Librarians, Almost Paradise, Leverage, movies, tons more. Again, free, plays on all sorts of devices.

IMDb TV free, tons of things (mostly movies). At first it was super easy to get into from the IMDb pages, but lately its like they want to do ads a lot before you get where you want to be. They also have some of my favourite series-that-aren't-on-regular-tv-right-now.

WatchSeriesStream.com I wanted to watch Murdoch Mysteries and they have it, plus a lot of other good stuff.

and Peacock, but it probably is only USA because its a subsidiary of the US's NBC. I don't really recommend it exactly because part of it is a paid subscription and they do a a sneaky thing, show a couple episodes of some show, then have the rest on the paid part. They do have some whole current TV series though (I've been watching Days of Our Lives since 1970 and they have it on the free side - at least so far...).

There are others available, and some others that have a reasonable fee ($5 or $10 per month), the above are the ones I'm using right now, though.

There are a couple things I miss by using the free services instead of paid ones (like MSNBC and CNN, but pieces of each night's programming is on YouTube - its a good place to search for shows - regular YouTube - not YouTube TV - has a lot of stuff if you can figure out how it is listed and find it), however, -!-, I don't miss the costs going up all the time, paying through the nose (I am not going to pay $80 or more for something that, while I might get some enjoyment from it, doesn't have much substance), with crummy customer service.

The link for Mythology Channel doesn't work for me either. I tried refreshing and clicking a second time, but it won't load. Not sure what that's about.

The next one is just his channel, which I already catch all the time anyhow. But it does load for me.

Wow - you get lots of choices in the USA
youTube tv - american only; could get it but it would cost me for a vpn subscription and then the $65 us ($80 cnd) monthly - ain't going to happen
IMDB tv - same as above, but I think it is included with your Amazon prime subscription

we have Crave TV here ... costs about $20/month or $200 per year. It includes the HBO subscription and is currently featuring all the HP movies right now, so will likely carry the 20th HP anniversary show. This is definitely worth checking out. I seldom if ever watch tv, but when I retire, maybe I will have some extra time. I really do miss some broadcasting ... such as the Calgary Stampede (10 days of rodeo), the Westminster Dog Show (and the agility show), plus the Triple Crown horse races in May/June. I will have to check if Crave TV carries those events. lol ... lots to do today!

If you like Poirot and other British shows, then check out BritBox - lots of my favorite shows are on it. Will be subscribing to this once I retire.
