Rain is gone, temps today either side of 90. Yikes! Supposed to be either side of 70 tomorrow and Tuesday then back into the mid to upper 80s the rest of the week. No rain until Friday afternoon...think it'll be like a typical summer rain storm. Then back to the 60s on Saturday. oy. Went from cold/cool/rainy to summer/hot back to cool then back to hot then back to cool. One good thing...low humidity until Friday.

The weather yoyo continues...and the bugs are out and pollen is everywhere. Yah.

Well, after melting Wednesday thru Friday (91 on Thursday, 92 Friday), it's been raining since Friday afternoon. Lovely thunderstorms Thursday night so had to keep the windows closed. Thunderstorms Friday afternoon; drive home was fun. MDOT had hydroplaning warnings on the electronic marques. They weren't kidding. Ponding was a nightmare. Didn't get out of that mess until halfway home then the interstate was just wet, no ponding. whew!

Temps went from 90s during the day down to somewhere in the 40s. And we're supposed to be in the 40s all week (might reach 50s if we're lucky), no warm temps until sometime Saturday. ugh! Hate the damned weather yoyo.

A low pressure system parked itself over Maine, which has kept the smoke away BUT we've had rain for a week. Finally got sun late yesterday and sunny today (and 70 degree temps!) but also means some of the smoke is going to find us. The only good thing is it won't be as bad as what other states have gotten. Just hazy. Then we have more rain starting Monday night, lasting all week...again...clearing out sometime next weekend. And we may also have thunderstorms. Just had my lawn mowed...might need it again by next weekend at this rate. lol

The yoyo continues...

Figgy, same here. Wettest, weirdest summer so far. For June, we had only 3 days with no rain of any kind. That's it. Would love to send some of it Howler's way. oh...forgot to add in the muggies have come and stayed, and don't appear to be going away any time soon. ugh!

July started out good despite being wicked muggy. It was 77 yesterday; today through Wednesday...take a wild guess? Yup. More rain and the muggies will continue. Low 70s today and mid 80s by the end of the week to play with the muggies. blah! SOOOOOOOO would love to send some of the rain Howler's way.

Seriously ... you ladies have got to start sharing all that moisture!!!
In June we got a total of 1-3/4" of rain ... and 1" of that fell on the 30th.

after so many years of drought, the grasshoppers have now taken over the country side ... they are eating entire crops of wheat/durum. It is rather nasty.

well - it is now official
we are into our 4th year of severe drought - and the SW corner of Sask is suffering greatly.
Our municipality has issued a state of emergency - between grasshopper infestation and gopher infestation, there is little to no crops remaining; and the pasture land for livestock is almost non existent. There was some who got hay baled by end of June, but not enough to feed the critters over the winter. This is certainly going to affect the cost of any grain made products and meat prices. Yikes.

I went for a quick drive in the country a week ago - stopped the car to take a couple photos. By the time I got home my vehicle was covered in grasshoppers. They were at the 'little' jump stage, but not yet at the flying stage so I was able to brush them off and kill them. Quite the 'stomping' party to say the least. Certainly not wanting to take any more country (photo) drives any time soon.

send rain ... !!!
my wand doesn't seem to be a "weather" wand (pity)

I would love to send rain your way. Mine isn't playing the weather game nice, either. Hot and humid this week and, you guessed it, rain and thunderstorms. Farmers here have the opposite problem. Too wet. Some have been able to do bales but not nearly enough. And buying from out of state...same issue. ugh! No happy medium for anyone.
