Don't even think of a headmaster with the word hunter in his name...

earth - water - air
At the first tournament, Durmstrangs was water; Beaubaton's was air; Hogwarts was land.
It is possible that whoever is hosting the tournament would be land/earth ... maybe.
and if that is the case, if the hosting is done by Durmstrang, then Hogwarts would travel by a water vessel; if the hosting is done by Beaubaton's, then Hogwarts would be done by an air mobile.

However, if all schools consistently remain the same, then Hogwarts would always be the land travellers, and that ... naturally ... would be by Train.

Brilliant! That never even occurred to me, but the Train is so very integral to everything Hogwarts.

In alchemy the fourth element is fire. So it would seem logical that it would be a fire-powered Train, envision one with space shuttle-type flames moving it. Plus, it would absolutely have magical speed/abilities because they all need to be there before the Champions are chosen. It would probably flame on and apparate to the country holding the Tourny.

Now that you've said "Train" it seems SO obvious... but I sat here for several hours trying to think of what epitomized Hogwarts and was travel-able. I can't believe I missed the Train. Gold Star, Howler!

Actually, I completely removed the element of fire from the equation due to the Goblet - which in itself is Fire. But I'm glad you liked my theory. I love to theorize, can't you tell. The train would travel as fast and as convenient as the Ship did ... if it can appear from the bottom of the lake, well, then the train can have magical access too.

It makes complete sense! Therefore, it must not be true. JK would never let such a thing happen.

Yet, it behooves Ms. Rowling to consult with you two prior to letting any more of her works to go to press.

Since your owls have been continually intercepted, maybe you should Apparate over there to reason with the young lady.
