Wow! Hopefully someone got some cool pics of all that lightening - safely of course. Hope you didn't lose power like in PH's neck of the woods.

It was 89 yesterday, 83 today, dew points in the upper 60's, 60's at night...yup. Summer is still here! No storms until tomorrow afternoon...maybe. At least Cristobal is supposed to stay out to sea, thank goodness.

Crap - those are some storms you guys got Paint and Figgy. Mind you, I think I would have used different words than "way cool" as a description. We had the same drop in temps after our storms ... it was awesome!
(I didn't send them, honest)

Keep us informed of your situation Paint ... have you put out all the fires, kept the peace and replaced all the ice in your freezer?

The cool part with lightning is that if you're going to get hit, you won't know it; and the cool part with thunder is that it tells you you didn't get hit by the lightning.

I agree with Howler on that one. Never did get the rain during the day like we were supposed to but did get a few quick showers at night when we weren't supposed to. Oh well...Maine...wait 5 minutes...yadda yadda yadda. At least we're in the mid 70's until Sunday into Monday when the muggy 80's return. With rain, of course. But nothing like what PH and Figgy went thru. At least that's what is being predicted at the moment.

We got a really nasty storm yesterday evening. While driving to work this morning there were still (large) piles of hail along the road's edges in a few spots - it actually looked like it sn**ed. (dirty word at this time of year). To top it off, there was a train derailment about 20km west of here. No idea what caused it yet, but it happened about the same time as the storm hit in that area. Coincidence?? No idea. I do know that the winds were extremely high again.

I'm sure glad mother nature got that out of her system ... and hopefully she doesn't get too fired up again ... we could use a rest from her wrath.

it is official ... high winds blew the train off the track.
I'm not sure why we are getting hurricane like winds but we are getting them more frequently all the time ... yuck.

I blame the Engineer. Obviously it was poor train handling.

Yikes. Hope no one was injured and it wasn't carrying anything toxic. Rain today, rain tomorrow, supposed to get thunderstorms but nothing yet. The muggies are back. Oh joy.
