Or maybe you get much more "efficient" snow that compacts itself from 1 ft into 1"

So efficient, that it's forecast to be compacted into rain next week.

I always disliked from Halloween to end of April in Ohio. It was black skeletal trees, sleet and gloom, grungy icebergs lining the roads, and generally dismal... thoroughly Heathcliff on the moors. Ride my horse for an hour, jump off back home and my feet felt like I was landing on broken glass, or hands didn't want to un-grip the reins - - because the damp made the cold sunk in and they'd be seized up (can't imagine what they did in the once-upon-a-times when they didn't have as good of materials and "winterizing".)

Its sunny and above freezing here today.

LOL - actually Ohio sounds much better than my province in the winter ... :geek:

Yeah, Ohio only had snow storms, not blizzards, and nothing like a good Prairie one. The snow flakes are a lot heavier and wetter there than they are here, they don't blow around much. Its great for building snowmen, though, and forts and igloos.

We get two types of snow ... one is the huge fluffy flakes that can literally stop traffic because of the swirls behind vehicles, or if the wind blows (it sure is pretty when it falls down though); the other is the tiny hard crystal type that feels like it is cutting your skin. It packs in hard and is almost impossible to shovel.

we get wet snow, but not often. If we get it, it is in April, May, Sept or Oct when it is supposed to be spring or fall, but mother nature has different ideas. Once in a while we get the perfect snowman making snow; a rarity for sure because the snow has to be wet, but not too wet - just enough to be sticky. We get this (maybe) once a year.

Makes me want to puke.

From 3pm Sunday through Monday morning we get a couple more inches of snow, then supposed to have the rest of the week nice and above freezing.

Well - snow storms all around the province yesterday. Needless to say, over half the province "travel was not recommended". (all except my little neck of the prairie) All we got was a tiny bit of the white stuff ... but a whole lot of nasty wind. I hate it when the wind is so loud!

March came in like a lion ... hoping it leaves like a lamb. Actually, hoping it stays lambish for the remainder of the month.
